Job Summary

Sets up, starts, runs and maintains various types of machinery used in the processing of thermoplastic polymers into stock shapes.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Assist in the efficient running of both sheet and film lines and maintain quality products
• Start up and shutdown Extrusion Equipment
• Break down, clean and set up on all dies and restart extruders with little or no supervision.
• Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
• Operate a forklift
• Ensure conformance to specifications
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy and quality throughout the entire part run
• Ability to troubleshoot and correct any problems at startup or during production
• Troubleshoot downstream equipment problems
• Load and unload processing equipment
• Follow directions
• Maintain housekeeping in sheet line area
• Maintain all safety requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License

Abilities Required

• Mechanical ability
• Proper use of hand and power tools
• Must be aware of surroundings at all times
• Must be able to think on their feet, make decisions and solve problems with little or no supervision
• Must have working knowledge of electricity, plumbing and pneumatics
• Must be prompt and reliable
• Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work overtime when needed based on production requirements
