If you have some experience with residential construction or installation of telecom equipment, alarm systems, garage doors, HVAC, plumbing--you name it--we'll train you to install wheelchair ramps, stair lifts, elevators, and other accessibility products so seniors with impaired mobility and individuals with disabilities can stay in their homes and remain independent.

Lifeway Mobility is an accessibility solutions company that provides a wide variety of ramps, stair lifts, wheelchair lifts, transfer aids, and bath safety solutions to individuals and businesses throughout the United States.

At Lifeway Mobility, our primary goal is to understand the accessibility needs of our customers and their caregivers, then to identify the appropriate products and services that will meet those needs. We don't approach our business with the aim to sell products, but rather to understand the holistic needs of the customer and provide recommendations to improve mobility, comfort, independence, and quality of life.

 

Here's what the job looks like:

· Installation, repair, and removal of accessibility products including wheelchair ramps, stair lifts (straight and custom), vertical platform lifts, bathroom safety and more

· Demo and re-construction of existing residential products for new accessible layouts and bathing safety

· Explain the installation, repair or removal to the customer and answer questions

· Enter work order and inventory data

· Receive manufacturer certified training and on-the-job training (paid time) with an experienced Technician

· Pick up company vehicle and load up orders at your home location's warehouse

· Work on jobs throughout your home location's service area (usually a 2-hour radius)

· 2 to 3 jobs per day is average, 2 to 3 hours or less per job depending on job difficulty.

· Mostly work independently and occasionally as a two-person team

· Availability of over-the-phone technical installation and troubleshooting support while in the field

· Provide a work-life balance, Full time position, Monday through Friday: 8am to 5pm, possible OT depending on workload

· Pay is between $20-$30/hr. Eligibility for merit and promotional increases during your employment at Lifeway.

· Possible paid travel to assist new locations

· Ability to relocate to another branch (depending on open positions available)

 

Job Requirements

Our ideal qualified candidate will have the following:

· At least one years' experience in residential or commercial installation of mechanical/electrical equipment, residential remodeling, or construction

· Experience using hand and battery-operated power tools

· Basic tablet and cell phone skills

· Strong customer focus and communication skills

· High school diploma or GED

· Ability to pass urinalysis screening, motor vehicle record check, and background screen

· Ability to drive company vehicle to various client sites and work flexible hours as needed to complete jobs

 

Physical requirements include the following:

· Must be able to lift 50lbs + throughout their shift

· Ability to lift above head and maintain position for short periods (frequent overhead work)

· Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments year-round

· Ability to climb ladders, crouch, kneel, bend, twist and occasionally work in tight spaces and at heights
