Job Description

Harrison House of Georgetown is a 139-bed skilled nursing facility located in the heart of Sussex County in Georgetown, Delaware. Staff Educator Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, direct, evaluate, and coordinate educational and on-the-job training programs.
  • Incorporate commercially produced instruction material and training aids into existing in-service programs as deemed necessary.
  • Provide leadership in formulating the goals and objectives of the in-service educational programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Develop, evaluated, and control the quality of in-service educational programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Secure, develop and maintain records, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc., pertinent to in-service educational programs.
  • Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, class attendance and subject records.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the administrator concerning in-service training programs.
  • Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs)
  • Needs to be Infection Preventionist Certified – team effort.
  • Responsible for Employee Health Tracking including COVID testing, Immunizations, nursing staff tracking of license/certification renewals, CPR renewals.
  • QAPI nurse. PIP implementation, tracking, updating and resolution.
  • Classroom, floor & individual education in addition to overseeing, Relias education requirements for all staff.
  • Staff orientation with assistance from Human Resources.
  • All other duties assigned by the Administrator



Educator Requirements

  • Possess and maintain a current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a long-term care environment
  • Minimum of one year of prior supervisory experience
  • CPR Certified
  • Prompt, punctual and professional
  • Self-directed with attention to detail
