Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Diesel Technician will perform general repair and preventive maintenance on trucks
  • Diesel Technician will work directly with service managers, foremen, and service writers to provide feedback to clients on work updates.
  • Provide technical service to vehicles.
  • Overhaul diesel engines
  • Perform maintenance and Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, fifth wheels, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, brakes, and change or recharge batteries.
  • Repair or replace transmissions
  • Diesel Technician will tag warranty parts and write warranty stories
  • Test drive repaired vehicles
  • Attend training classes to stay up to date with mobile changes
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions on equipment and repairs
  • Use diagnostic software to find and repair the issue

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience as a Diesel Technician
  • Valid Driver License
  • Ability to pass a drug screen
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to use diagnostic software for trouble shooting and check engine lights

Physical Environment

•Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, picking, pinching, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motion of the hands, wrists and/or fingers
•Very heavy work. Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
•Visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operates machines where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades, tasks of a non-repetitive nature
•Exposure to environmental conditions such as rain, direct/indirect sun and heat for extended periods of time
•Subject to both environmental conditions
•Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity
•Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
•Exposure to multiple, high-stress situation at any given time and must maintain a high level of alertness
