Hendrick Automotive Group is looking to add an experienced Recognition & Engagement Coordinator to its team. 3-5 years of event coordination experience is required. This position works to execute internal and public initiatives to celebrate our employee milestones and promote the Hendrick Automotive Group brand.

Summary:

The Recognition & Engagement Coordinator provides essential administrative and project support to the Recognition & Employee Engagement department, helping to drive initiatives related to employee recognition, branded apparel, corporate social responsibility, and internal events. From coordinating logistics and managing vendor relationships to preparing executive-level communications and overseeing program data, this role requires a high level of organization, precision, and professionalism.

Meticulous attention to detail is critical, as the coordinator ensures accuracy and consistency across communications, timelines, and deliverables. The ideal candidate excels at managing multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining a polished and positive presence.

This role involves regular interaction with senior leaders and C-suite executives. As such, discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity are essential. The coordinator will also represent the department in both internal and external communications and must demonstrate professionalism and tact at all times.

A strong grasp of corporate event planning standards, along with the ability to anticipate needs and support both strategic initiatives and day-to-day execution, is key to success. Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, as part of project management duties this position may direct the work of others.

  • Consistently model Servant Leadership and promote the company’s values and culture
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Hendrick’s brand standards, culture, and internal policies
  • Provide first-level support to end users of the recognition tracking system
  • Maintain accurate, real-time recognition data across all programs
  • Compile and distribute monthly and yearly recognition reporting
  • Keep departmental process documentation up to date and well-organized
  • Manage databases related to recognition, branded apparel, and coordinator roles
  • Support apparel ordering, invoicing, training facilitation for dealership apparel coordinators and additional apparel program support as needed
  • Coordinate and execute Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, including:
    • Bi-annual meal drive initiatives
    • Partner relationships with local food banks
    • Review and approval of vendor-submitted purchase orders
    • Financial oversight and reporting for Hendrick Cares
    • Maintenance of the Hendrick Cares and apparel coordinator lists
  • Provide planning and logistical support for companywide recognition and engagement events
  • Oversee content gathering, coordination, and production of the monthly TeamMates digital newsletter
  • Maintain general department organization, calendar management, and internal communication flow
  • Read, route, and respond to incoming mail and email
  • Draft, edit, and send routine professional correspondence
  • Organize and maintain department files and records
  • Conduct research and compile data for reporting or presentation purposes
  • Coordinate meetings, including agenda preparation, room and AV setup, and post-meeting follow-through

Education/Experience:

3-5 Years of event coordination experience is required.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Verbal and Writing Ability:

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft professional emails, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders. Must demonstrate a courteous and confident phone presence.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid Passport

Environment/Physical Demands:

Duties are performed primarily in an office environment and is not a remote position. Some travel by car and air is required to support operations meetings and other initiatives. International travel may also be required. At times, this position may be required to move and lift boxes and other materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Position will regularly be required to bend, squat, push, pull and twist.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana), form builders (e.g., Formstack), and email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact), Familiarity with virtual event platforms (e.g., CVENT) and online ordering systems such as Magento is highly preferred.
