CAREER OPPORTUNITY with GROWING CHEVROLET GM DEALERSHIP in Norfolk, VA!

Hendrick Automotive Group, the largest privately-owned automotive dealer group in the country, is seeking experienced Automotive Technicians (A/B Level) to join our growing service department in Norfolk, VA - just minutes from the beach!

Automotive Technicians are responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle systems, troubleshooting engine and transmission problems, and performing all necessary maintenance on Chevrolet/GM vehicles as well as a variety of makes and models. Trained to have a thorough understanding of gas/diesel engines, the ability to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot repair issues, is a TEAM player with excellent communication skills, and is committed to providing EXCEPTIONAL customer service.

  • Pay Range: $65,000 - $90,000 per year and above (based on certification level and job performance).
  • Schedule: Full Time, 5-day work week, business hours 7:30am-6:00pm, closed on Sundays.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul automotive vehicles.
  • Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections.
  • Inspect and adjust tire pressures, shock absorbers, and other automotive components.
  • Test and repair brakes, exhaust systems, suspensions, engine components, and other automotive parts.
  • Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads and wheel bearings.
  • Use diagnostic tools and special service equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Keep records of customer/vehicle service and repair histories.
  • Explain diagnostic results and proposed repairs to customers.
  • Stay up to date on factory technical bulletins and attend educational workshops.
  • Follow manufacturer’s specifications and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.
  • Keep up to date on automotive technologies and advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Vocational/Trade Certificate, High School Diploma, GED.
  • Desired Work Experience: 5 years of direct Automotive Technician experience preferred (Chevrolet or similar dealership).
