  • Tax Accountants have the rewarding opportunity to be a valuable member of the corporate team to support our company's financial success. They are trained to use their knowledge of tax accounting and financial background to help with preparing and filing taxes for the company, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Location: Hendrick Automotive Group (Charlotte, NC).
  • Schedule: Full Time, 8:30am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Pay Structure: $55,000 per year and above.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit tax returns for various clients (S-corporations, C-corporations, trusts and individuals).
  • Prepare LIFO calculations for all dealerships.
  • Prepare fixed asset schedules for depreciation for all dealerships.
  • Analyze financial statements and other financial documents to ensure accuracy of tax information.
  • Advise clients and answer questions regarding strategies for tax planning.
  • Create and manage internal processes and systems for tracking and reporting taxes.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and update clients on any applicable changes.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies between tax filings and state and federal tax laws.
  • Prepare financial reports for clients to help them understand their taxes and find cost savings.
  • Liaise with the Internal Revenue Service and other state and local tax agencies to ensure compliance with all tax laws.
  • Respond to state and federal tax notices on behalf of our dealerships.
  • Assist in gathering information for tax audits.
  • Assist Accounting Managers with any tax questions they may have.
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.
  • Participate in required training.
  • Follow Safeguards rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrate the Company’s Core Values.
  • Comply with Company policies and procedures.
  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Accountancy Degree.
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Proven track record of successful tax compliance and preparation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software.

  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and analyze it accurately.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
