  • The Sales Manager is responsible for driving new car sales by managing the sales process, leading and motivating sales staff, and providing EXCEPTIONAL customer service! This also includes managing various aspects of the sales department while executing marketing and sales strategies to increase dealership visibility and generate new business.

  • Pay Range: $180,000 - $230,000 per year and above (based on job performance).

Job Responsibilities:

  • This job has direct supervisory responsibilities.

  • Develops and implements effective sales strategies and programs to maximize sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

  • Monitors market trends to identify potential sales opportunities, and adjusts strategies accordingly.

  • Trains, motivates, and manages sales staff to ensure goals and objectives are met.

  • Evaluates performance and develops plans to improve productivity.

  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with customers.

  • Monitors customer feedback and makes necessary changes to improve customer service.

  • Negotiates with customers to close sales.

  • Maintains inventory of new cars and tracks sales.

  • Manages and tracks orders and deliveries.

  • Monitors and analyzes sales reports and develops action plans to address any trends or issues.

  • Generates sales leads and ensures they are followed up on.

  • Prepares and analyzes budgets and forecasts to ensure profitability.

  • Ensures successful achievement of all monthly sales & CSI objectives for the dealership, as outlined by the manufacturer and the Hendrick Pre-owned Performance Plan Objectives.

  • Ensures successful achievement of Autoguard Tier 3 each month.

  • Ensures MOC reputation achievement each month, per the Hendrick guidelines.

  • Works with upper management and Human Resources to make hiring and discipline decisions.

  • Responsible for sale price & trade-in vehicle appraisal decisions.

  • Ensures proper reporting of sales to manufacturer(s).

  • Attends required manager meetings.

  • Maintains effective employee relations.

  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.

  • Participates in required training.

  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.

  • Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values.

  • Complies with Company policies and procedures.

  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • College Degree preferred.

  • 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Knowledge of automotive sales industry.

  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of Dealership Management System, Microsoft Office products, and web based applications.

  • Proven record of successfully leading and coaching a sales team.

  • Solid understanding of dealership operations and financial management.

  • Knowledge of dealership sales processes, factory incentives, related laws and regulations.

  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies.

  • Willingness to stay current on automotive trends and technology.

  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
