Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties can be assigned

  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable

  • Maintain cash transactions for multiple bank accounts

  • Prepare bank reconciliations

  • Reconcile vendor payables

  • Process and reconcile external client billing

  • Process commissions payables

  • Prepare and record monthly closing journal entries

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and footnotes

  • Interact with management and other departments

  • Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, analyses, and special projects as requested by management

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and standardization

  • Perform duties in compliance with GAAP and company/department policies and procedures

  • Provide superior internal customer service to company’s business unit

  • Other miscellaneous duties and special projects as needed

  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area

  • Participates in required training

  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations

  • Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values

  • Complies with Company policies and procedures

  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties

Education/Experience:

Bachelor in accounting or finance, 3-5 years of combined accounting experience including treasury accounting. Strong initiative with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Verbal and Writing Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret accounting and transactional data. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. The ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts in an accounting context.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to analyze transactions and determine proper accounting treatment.

Attendance Expectations:

The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.

Certificates and Licenses:

None. CPA candidate (eligible to sit for CPA exam) is a plus.

Physical Demands:

Duties are performed primarily at a desk in an office environment but will also be required to work throughout the premises. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel.

Environment Demands:

Work includes frequent project assignments and interaction with customers, vendors, and company personnel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and sit. Duties are performed primarily in the office but frequent travel to dealership locations is required.
