Central Garden & Pet Company is searching for a Senior Manager of Procurement to support the Supply Chain Simplification strategy in alignment with the Business Unit strategy. This role will be within the Central Home Brands Business Unit and will report to the VP of Procurement with a dotted line to the Senior Director of Supply Chain Operations. This role is responsible for implementation of various elements of the Supply Chain Simplification Strategy, will own and lead various Procurement activities within the Business Unit. This role will be based in Bingham Farms, MI.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS
  • Functionally support and maintain accountability for the Business Unit (CHB)
  • Fully integrated with and aligned on the implementation of the BU Strategy
  • Liaison with Corporate Supply Chain and Information Systems (IS) on implementation of the Source to Pay (S2P) technology
  • Liaison with Corporate Supply Chain on implementation and ongoing maintenance of Material Specifications. Procurement support aligned with Sales and Manufacturing Operations for packaging and fill materials will be a focus
  • Liaison with Corporate Supply Chain on development and implementation of SKU simplification plans in alignment with BU Strategies
  • Develop and support modeling of Supply Chain Cost Savings opportunities related to SKU Simplification
  • Support the implementation and tracking of Net Productivity plans and project management. Drive the business to create a 5-year rolling pipeline of opportunities and projects
  • Actively partner and support R&D and commercial teams on losses in the innovation process
  • Support development of key metrics and KPIs as needed within the department to run the business effectively. Act as liaison with Corporate SC to ensure meaningful standardization of metrics
  • Support quality through active participation in quality management meetings, via running changes and quality alerts focusing on supplier accountability and issue resolution
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Supply Chain leadership

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in procurement, operations and Supply Chain
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities and be able to balance those as needed.
  • Experience effectively managing multiple projects from cradle to grave.
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and motivate teams to meet business needs.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and data management.
  • Experience in data analytics and data models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Financial business acumen.
  • LEAN and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • SAP experience required.
  • Microsoft Power BI experience a plus.
