We are seeking a Key Account Manager to join our Pet Specialty sales team within the Pet segment. We are looking for high energy and self-motivated candidates who is ready to take their next career step up to large account management.This role is a remote, home-office based field sales position and desirable candidates and can based in cities convenient to limited required travel. He/she will mainly cover key accounts throughout the United States that include but are not limited to Petsense, Centinela, Pet Food Express, Mud Bay, Pet Pros, etc…..with an emphasis on Petsense.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS
  • Implement the sales planning process for Central Pet Distribution and all customers assigned to this territory
  • Execute account specific programs designed to achieve profitable sales volume, optimal distribution, competitive retail pricing
  • Develop and maintain listing base through strategic sales efforts
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts across the Central portfolio when needed
  • Lead events including billing efficiencies, track spending, keeping books current to grow profitability.
  • Actively and constantly work cross-functionally with accounting in Boise, operations from different branch locations and managers to lower expenses, maximizing profits for Central Pet Distribution
  • Participate and provide input as it applies to the customer base on maximizing profit and reducing expenses
  • Constantly evolve sales model to maximize profit
  • Developing and executing omni channel sales efforts to achieve the best EBIT for Central Pet Distribution regardless of account responsibility


IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
  • BS/BA Degree preferred in a business discipline
  • 5+ years of professional sales experience, with a proven track record of inside sales account management
  • Experience in managing large retail accounts; high volume product sales experience, omni channel and category management experience preferred
  • Understanding of and utilization of KPI’s (revenue, gross profit margin percent and dollars, inventory days of supply, turns, GMROI, sales per square foot, margin per square foot, comp-store sales, etc.)
  • Strong original thinking, creative problem solving and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strategic planning and strong negotiation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to a broad audience
  • Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Ability to learn computer programs as needed


WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Travel required, approximately 15% with overnight trips; car and airline travel; hotel sleep accommodations.
  • Home office conditions when not actively traveling in region. Variation in work hours is necessary due to customer time zone locations, employee and customer schedules, special projects, deadlines and other business activities.
  • Reports to Director of Sales- Pet Specialty
