Do you love pets and love working in a fast-paced environment? Our Pet Segment is seeking an experienced Night Warehouse Manager. In this role you will be responsible for managing all nightly activities including order selection and shipping. If you are dependable, responsible, and committed to safety, this job is for you!

Location: Central Pet Distribution Center in Hamilton NJ

Shift Details: Night Shift Monday – Friday, 3:00pm-2:00am or until all orders are complete. This position is a full-time, salaried position.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS
  • Supervise and assist a crew of 30+ employees in night warehouse shipping and inventory areas including order fulfillment, ensuring accuracy of shipments, and supporting documentation, truck loading and routing, packaging, and inventory transactions.
  • Oversee all picking and shipping activities, ensuring that orders are picked, packed, and loaded in a safe, accurate, timely and damage free manner
  • Responsible for the department meetings regarding safety, quality, productivity, and lean goals
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of departmental activities
  • Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow
  • Utilize company operating systems, Prelude, VoCollect, Dayforce and Insight Via
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations
  • Recommending measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and staff
  • Conferring with other Supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal customers
  • Responsible for training and development of all shift personnel; including training of new associates, conducting performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and terminations
  • Communicate any issues that affect warehouse production safety, accuracy, and efficiency to the Operations Manager
  • Assist with equipment maintenance repair PM schedules
  • Fill in for other warehouse managers a needed

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
  • 4-5 years of relevant warehouse experience, including 2-3 years of previous supervisory experience
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish a plus
  • Strong understanding of NJ HR policies
  • Leader and strong communicator, Results driven Professional
  • BA degree in business management or related field, preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Knowledge of general warehouse management software and aptitude to learn new software applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Certifications in powered industrial equipment. Forklifts, reach truck, order picker and rider pallet jack units
  • Able to meet physical requirements including a variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day; repeated twisting at the torso; regular lifting of up to 50 pounds
