Our Garden Segment is searching for a Packaging Operator/Foreman in our El Centro, CA location. This position overseas all aspects of the packaging operations, including daily inspection of the packaging machines, the department’s work-flow and supervision of the work crew.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

Oversight

• Understands and champions all company safety standards and policies.

• Distributes and oversees the flow of work orders.

• Daily inspection of packaging Machines and all equipment at the beginning of each workday.

• Assigns housekeeping responsibilities and ensures the work area is always clean and safe.

• Coordinates with maintenance department to assure machines are properly maintained.

Operate Packaging Machine

• Placing product in machine and monitoring the coating once process is complete changing the to the packaging machine.
• Packaging product to customer specifications
• Placingpackaged product ontopallets
• Using a forklift, stack finished material and place in holding area.
• General housekeeping of the work area by using the blower and clearing debris
• Must be able to have an acceptable lines per hour capability with minimum errors.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Keep understanding of the whole seed operation.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with packaging machinery.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Ability to keep track of the entire operation and step in as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with temperature ranges from 115º to 40º Fahrenheit.
• Must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time.
• Seasonal Overtime required.
