If you have a background in e-Commerce sales and business development and enjoy playing a critical role on a fast-paced and high-performing sales team, keep reading! Our e-Commerce sales team is searching for a Business Development Manager for our Chewy.com account. The successful candidate will drive the company’s growth in the online sales through aggressive go-to-market strategies, account management and effective marketing and promotional program development. You will play a key role in helping the organization achieve our goals and objectives on a high-growth, high-visibility sales team! This is a remote, home-office based sales position with a preference for candidates on the East Coast or with quick access to a major metropolitan airport.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS
  • Create key customer business plans for each channel and achieve sales account goals.
  • Closely monitor sales and forecast the business regularly to ensure alignment with brands and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate and negotiate with various business units to launch new strategy and product lines.
  • Regularly evaluate catalog to ensure that all products are listed as active, and that content is current.
  • Analyze weekly reporting including sales opportunity and risks; develop actionable plans for the account to increase sales.
  • Collaborate with all business units/brands on areas of opportunity to increase visibility on-site and optimize on-site merchandising.
  • Develop strategic and innovative thinking about improving business in a very complex and competitive marketplace.
  • Conduct post event analysis of promotions and determine ROI.
  • Work with customer and business units on all promotional plans and routinely update the business on progress and successes.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, logistics and product development teams to ensure collaboration on new product lines, marketing opportunities and efficient freight strategies.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
  • 5+ years of experience in e-Commerce consumer products sales
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related business discipline; Master’s degree preferred
  • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally & transversely across the organization
  • Deep understanding of “How to Win” in the Chewy.com environment
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Knowledge of e-Commerce product flow and web store performance optimization
  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with customers and partners
  • Solid analytical skills to effectively analyze results and develop strategies and solve problems
  • Proficient in account level e-Commerce tools (Google Analytics, Tableau, etc)
  • Strong listening and negotiation skills
  • Commitment to deadlines, accuracy and professionalism
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safemanner

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Home office conditions; required overnight business travel approximately 10-15% of the time
