Central Garden & Pet is seeking a Logistics Planner to join the Central Garden & Pet Transportation Team. This position is based in the Madison, GA facility. The role will directly support the business in meeting quality and logistics objectives; collaborate with other team members within Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and Customer Support in directly impacting the success of Central Garden & Pet.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

• Collaborate with 3 rd party vendors and internal Supply Chain team to efficiently and effectively plan inbound and outbound shipments across all major domestic modes of transportation.
• Provide feedback and commentary on Transportation Marketplace Dynamics to various functional teams.
• Provide Total Logistics Costs estimates to various functional teams.
• Participate in meetings with CG&P Transportation Management Team reviewing key metrics.
• Participate in meetings with transportation providers to enhance service and reduce logistics costs.
• Recommend and manage changes needed to enhance best practices.
• Maintain data integrity on short- and long-term basis.
• Drive efficiencies in logistics planning processes
• Assist as a backup/backfill with other logistics roles or projects.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

• Bachelor’s degree with a business emphasis in Supply Chain, Management, or MIS
• Advanced level of experience with Microsoft Office, esp. Excel
• Strong attention to detail with exceptional communication skills
• Experience with JDA, BlueJay, Manhattan, MecuryGate, Oracle OTM, or various other TMS applications is preferred.
• Experience with Tableau or Power BI is preferred.
• Strong analytical abilities and knowledge of business processes and cycles
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with team members.
• Knowledge and experience in SAP preferred.
• High level of energy and sense of urgency; self-starter; strong and effective multi-tasker
• Highly motivated individual with a problem-solving mentality
• High levels of integrity required.
• Ability to travel up to 10%
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
