Logistics Manager, Safety and Quality Coordinator

Measures of Success:

• Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine the facility’s progress toward stated goals and objectives. Monitor and develop KPIs for optimal use of personnel and resources.

• Manage shipment tracking system (SAP) to record deliveries, shipments, and on-time deliveries

• Communicate effectively with the Customer Service team, shipping clerk, and employees on any logistics issues

• Investigate any logistic issues for root cause analysis and provide corrective action

• Partner and interact with the Corporate HSE team and be an active contributor and supporter of the Safety Program

• Update and monitor Insight Via

• Coordinate, perform, and document employee safety training

• Coordinate outside services for annual inspections

• Create, Monitor, and Update Safety Policies to help ensure the facility is operated in a safe manner, where employees are not exposed to risks; along with ensuring all environmental and DOT laws/regulations are adhered to.

• Systematically process returns/damaged merchandise prior to being processed back into inventory.

• Participate in formulating, implementing, and administering the policies of the site and develop long-range goals and objectives for the operation.

• Assist in the development of employees including hiring, training, termination, and performance reviews, keeping in balance with Human Resource guidelines and policies.

• Plan best allocation and utilization of space and resources for current and/or re-organization of the Distribution Center.

• Responsible for the overall function of distribution, cost control, and inventory control. Includes developing procedures, SOP’s and KPI’s, to verify outgoing shipments, handling merchandise, and maintaining inventory.

• Assist the inbound team in the receiving and inventory function of the warehouse when needed.

• Assist in the domestic purchasing of materials

• Utilize SAP to run reports pertaining to production and distribution

• Investigate and correct any inventory discrepancies as they arise

• Review/inspect any quality issues

• Record and track quality data

• New hire training

• Has advanced knowledge with SAP materials management and warehouse management. Helps other team members navigate SAP and assists when issues arise.

• Monitor and maintain an effective, and efficient, forklift operation to support warehousing and distribution.

• Maintain exceptional customer service – Internal and external.

Ideal Candidate Attributes:

• Previous experience in managing carrier pickups and dock scheduling

• Optimal time management skills – meetings, activities, and team member interaction

• SAP Experience required

• Strong analytical skills

• Experience implementing and managing a WMS required

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Previous supervisory and leadership experience

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

• Maintain work schedule to support the fluctuating business needs.
