Kaytee is currently looking for a1 st Shift Ingredient Inspector. You will be responsible for inspecting product and retaining samples to test for insects and foreign matter.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

• Inspect incoming grain samples with aid of microscope for presence of insects, mites, foreign materials, noxious weed seeds and off odors.
• Inspect grain cleaning screenings with the aid of a microscope for the presence of insects, mites, foreign materials, noxious weed seeds and off odors.
• Inspect incoming grain samples with aid of microscope for presence of insects, mites, foreign materials, noxious weed seeds and off odors.
• Keeps the work area clean and orderly.
• Understand and support the goals and objectives of the department.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Responsible for reporting any Food Safety issues to authorized personnel for correction.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

• Basic Microsoft Excel Skills for Data Entry of Test Results
• Ability to keep organized Paper Logs for various Data Entry
• Ability to work safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision in a safe and efficient manner.
• Must be able to consistently lift up to 40 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Must have the ability to bend, twist, turn and climb.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others and work in a team environment.
• Must have solid organizational skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is performed in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• Warehouse/Manufacturing temperatures can vary due to outside temperatures.
• Hours of work will be on Weekdays where you will work 4-10 Hour Shifts, Monday through Thursday
• There may be some variation in work hours due to overtime, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns. Overtime mainly occurs on Friday’s.
