Pennington Seed is searching for someone to manage our Seed Lab in our Greenfield, Missouri location. A candidate with the status of Registered Seed Technologist is desired. Also, a degree in Agriculture Science or a closely related field is needed.

This position requires a qualified candidate to be safety conscious and able to perform required functions in a productive manner. This posting also requires one to work with tight schedules and deadlines.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

• Approving and authorizing time sheets for accuracy and helping monitor overtime for all employees
• Organizing and coordinating daily work agendas for lab staff
• Attend and/or send lab delegates to the monthly safety meeting
• Attend weekly Monday-managers meeting
• Attend quarterly finance meeting to address the seed lab's profit/loss statement
• Manage daily, weekly, and monthly production reports
• Reconcile any credit card expenses incurred each month using our Certify expense program
• All seed samples tested are to be in accordance with the Rules for Seed Testing, set forth by the Association of Official Seed Analyst
• Seed testing is conducted on received samples from the following departments: Plant, Small packaging, Return Center, Warehousing, Re-Label Testing, and Oregon Division

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

• Registered Seed Technologist preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science or related field
• SAP experience or willing to learn
• Proficient in Microsoft, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
• Effective communication skills, written, oral and formal presentation
• Sense of urgency and ability to drive projects to completion
• Must have teamwork attitude and collaborative skills
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
• Willingness to work overtime when needed

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Full-time position in a laboratory/office environment
• File samples kept in a warehouse, periodic exposure to the facility needed
