We are seeking a highly motivated, organized team player to join our Accounting group. The Cost Accounting Manager is a key member of our Finance team and will be responsible for facilitating and managing the operation of the SAP cost accounting systems and procedures, the creation and execution of product cost estimates, and the maintenance and management of inventory quantities, valuations, transfers, and reconciliations. Period end closing duties, including SAP closing, accruals, journal entry review and approval, G/L reconciliations, cost center reporting, and communicating on a detail level. This role will assist the Plant Controller in the preparation of the Plant Budget, Forecast, Gross Productivity and Cost Headwind reporting, and financial analysis as well as contributing to both internal and external financial reporting requirements.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS
  • Responsible for financial control and valuation of company inventories through reconciliation, audit, and process review across CLS, supplier, and consignment locations.
  • Participates in compliance and control initiatives to improve company processes and procedures.
  • Key resource in “Roadmap to Success” project to improve company standard costing through analysis, tracking, master data improvement, and project management efforts.
  • Improves operational reporting and analysis over plant volumes, activities, and spending levels. Helps drive insight and improvement opportunities over cost structure, efficiency, and rate.
  • Leverages Shoplogix shop floor reporting platform to analyze operational drivers, plant efficiency, run rate, downtime, etc.
  • Supports company productivity/savings initiatives and cost headwind reporting.
  • Performs monthly close duties, including review of journal entries, key transactions, account reconciliations, and manufacturing variances to ensure the accuracy and validity of transactions.
  • Detailed review and investigation of plant production results and manufacturing variances.
  • Assists Controller with E&O inventory review, analysis, and process redesign.
  • Key liaison between business and inventory management teams; leverages S&OP team efforts.
  • Provides enterprise-wide planning support to drive company budget and forecasting processes.
  • Prepares and supports external/internal audit requests; adheres to audit guidelines and timing.
  • Delivers business insight through meaningful verbal and written presentations to executive management and key company stakeholders.
  • Manages, trains, and develops staff as part of company performance management process.
  • Identifies and supports special projects, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, strong understanding of GAAP.
  • 3-5 years working experience in Cost Accounting, in a work order environment with standard costing system.
  • 3-5 years working with Integrated Manufacturing Software, preferably SAP (or comparable ERP System).
  • 1-3 years of management experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong skills in Excel using data tables, pivot tables and the suite of data analytic tools is essential.
  • Tableau, BI/Cognos and HFM experience a plus.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, prioritize work and deadlines in a fast-paced lean environment.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Equally comfortable working independently or as a team contributor.
  • Possess a service orientation with continuous improvement mindset.
