We are seeking a highly motivated, organized team player to join our Accounting group. The Cost Accountant is a key member of our Finance team and will be responsible for facilitating and managing the operation of the SAP cost accounting systems and procedures, aid in the creation and execution of product cost estimates, manage the production order process, its close and analysis, maintains and manages inventory quantities, valuations, transfers and reconciliations. Period end closing duties including SAP closing, accruals, preparing journal entries, G/L reconciliations, cost center reporting and communicating on a granular level. Assist the Cost Accounting Manager in the preparation of the Plant Budget, financial analysis as well as contributing to both internal and external financial reporting requirements.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS
  • Maintenance of SAP material master, accounting and costing views on new and existing SKU’s
  • Maintain the Standard Cost by material with product cost accuracy of each cost element
  • Assist in the SAP creation, analyses, and maintenance of the Standard Cost estimates
  • Extracting multiple data tables from SAP and providing analysis in Excel workbooks using pivot table and lookup functions to create meaningful verbal & written reporting to management
  • Reconciliation and audit of physical inventory for various locations; record corrections and maintain audit documentation with approvals for CLS, consignment and subcontractors
  • Oversee, analyze, and report on the inventory cycle count program
  • Assist with Gross Productivity validations
  • Assist with compliance initiatives and process controls
  • Performance of month end closing duties, including work order costing, analysis & GL spending to budget review at a granular level, prepare variance analysis, account reconciliations and analytical reviews of company accounts to ensure the accuracy and validity of transactions, prepare monthly, quarterly & annual journal entries and accruals for assigned areas
  • Provide plant operational reporting, including plant labor and overhead absorption variances, PPV, adjustments, and other analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Provide support to the budget and forecasting process
  • Provide quality meaningful verbal and written presentations to management
  • Support & prepare internal & external audit requests according to SOX guidelines
  • Special projects, as directed

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; strong understanding of GAAP accounting
  • 1-3 years working experience in Cost Accounting, in a work order environment with standard cost
  • 1-3 years working with Integrated Manufacturing Software, preferably SAP (or comparable ERP System)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong skills in Excel using data tables, pivot tables and the suite of data analytic tools is essential
  • Tableau, BI/Cognos and HFM experience a plus
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, prioritize work and deadlines in a fast-paced lean environment
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Equally comfortable working independently or as a team contributor
  • Possess a service orientation with continuous improvement mindset
