The e-Commerce Category Insights Manager is responsible for leveraging broad-based business knowledge and functional expertise to fuel sales & profit growth. This is an important leadership role, ensuring that Central Garden & Pet demonstrates powerful eCommerce thought leadership in Pet Supplies categories & segments where we compete. The eCommerce Category Insights Manager role-models functional excellence in primary research, syndicated analysis, trend spotting and insights-based problem solving. A resident eCommerce shopper expert, this role helps the organization better understand the rapidly evolving eCommerce landscape both from a category and a shopper POV, ensuring our Central categories and brands grow profitably. This person must be curious, passionate, energetic, self-motivated - an insights & analytics leader who operates with discipline to support the broad learning needs of multiple businesses and customers as one of the Company’s strategic growth engines. Reporting to the VP Consumer Insights & Category Leadership and embedded with our eCommerce growth team, this position will be location free with occasional travel to our corporate offices.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
Required Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree with a business emphasis (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Marketing, etc.) required.
- 5+ years progressive Market Research/Shopper Insight background; Brand Building and Innovation Experience at top tier CPG.
- Strong knowledge / ability to pull, cultivate and interpret syndicated data (Profitero / Stackline, Nielson / IRI, Numerator, Packaged Facts, Kantar, APPA, Cleveland Research).
- Strong computer literacy with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Attributes:
- Masters of Marketing Research, Behavioral Science or MBA.
- Consumer / Shopper Insights, Category Management or Shopper Marketing Experience in eCommerce (Amazon, Chewy), Mass, and Pet Specialty channels.
- Experience with advanced data visualization platforms (Tableua, Microsoft PowerBI or similar).
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Comfortable, corporate office environment; frequent use of phone and PC; required overnight business travel approximately 10-15% of the time
