Central Garden and Pet is looking for a Supply Chain Analyst/Developer to join our Supply Chain team that has interest in furthering their development in the functional side of SAP. The Supply Chain team is responsible for supporting SAP and add on systems to SAP in planning, manufacturing, purchasing, warehouse, shipping and receiving. Key non-SAP systems exist for Demand Planning, OEE, TMS, Digital BOL, Voice Picking, Freight Audit and Pay and Analytics.

This resource will work on a variety of projects across the Supply Chain team with a mix of 60% technical/development work and 40% functional. In addition to strong technical capabilities, strong communication is critical as will be responsible for regularly interacting with users in the business through the design, build, test, training and support for implementations of new functionality and rollouts for new plants in SAP. Deep SAP functional experience is not required, but willingness to learn and develop these skills is critical.

Long-term this resource will be expected to be involved in rolling out SAP to new manufacturing locations and supporting all development for the forecast to stock and purchase to pay processes within the team. However, in the first-year work in these areas may be light so will be needed to assist the warehouse and shipping side of the team with various projects in this area.

Key development projects will include SAP reports, enhancements, forms and interfaces using ABAP, integration with SAP and other systems using SnapLogic as a middleware and analytics tools Tableau and Business Objects.

As we continue to add non-SAP solutions to the team, it will be important for this resource to have a diverse technology skill set to complement the existing SAP skills of the team so we can better support these solutions.

Desired technical skills would include ABAB, JavaScript, Python, PHP, SQL, C++, VBA, Rest APIs and Git version control. Experience or knowledge of middleware tools such as SnapLogic, Jitterbit or Ab Initio would be a plus but not required.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

• Facilitate discussions with end users and other team members to understand business requirements and translate to functional and technical solutions to support these requirements.
• Development of SAP ABAP programs including RF transactions, reports, interfaces, labels, and forms.
• Utilize SnapLogic as a middleware to integrate SAP with non-SAP systems ensuring a high volume and high-performance exchange of data.
• Provide technical expertise on non-SAP solutions including PLC integration, TMS integration, OEE integration, tablet-based solutions and voice picking.
• Act as primary technical evangelist on behalf of SAP Supply Chain team.
• Configure SAP to meet specific business requirements of various work units.
• Complete training documentation and lead training sessions.
• Develop relationships with users, supervisors, and managers in the business and other team members in information systems. Strong communication skills required.
• Must be results oriented, and demonstrate a Can-Do' attitude - adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

• BS/BA in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years’ development experience with diverse set of tools. SAP, Java Script, Python, PHP, C++ and SQL experience preferred.
• Experience in IPaaS middleware platforms such as SnapLogic, Jitterbit and Boomi.
• Experience with Git or version management solutions.
• Knowledge to build complex mappings with JSON path expressions and Python scripting.
• Strong technical skills in integration-related technologies such as SFTP, Soap/Rest APIs, XML, and JSON.
• SAP ABAP experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to operate across multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong work ethic, desire to learn, and excel
• Ability to travel to manufacturing and warehouse locations per projects’ requirements. Travel will average around 25% for year.
