E-Commerce is booming - more consumers are going online to fulfill their weekly shopping needs or to learn more about products. Our team is on a mission to up-level our digital shelf presence on E-Commerce. The E-Commerce Merchandising Specialist partners with Brands, Omnichannel, and Design to deliver best practices at the digital shelf, putting our products at the top of retailers’ recommendations and in consumers’ carts.

This role works across Central Garden & Pet’s iconic Dog & Cat brands Nylabone, Cadet, and Four Paws to develop a best-in-class online presence, scroll-stopping images, and copy that showcases our products. As an E-Commerce Merchandising Specialist, you will lead product content production – working with Brands to plan for online presence across innovation and renovation products. Responsibilities include developing a strategy for online creative and copy with Design, driving on-time asset approvals with Stakeholders, and assuring delivery to our retailers’ digital shelves.

We are seeking enthusiastic talent E-Commerce Merchandising Specialist to support the E-Commerce team. While this is an entry-level position, the ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial-spirited, highly detail-oriented, have exceptional problem-solving skills along with prior knowledge of or demonstrated interests in E-Commerce Merchandising Specialist. This role will support the E-Commerce Team through a variety of tasks, including business analysis, product review, vendor meetings, and execution of strategy.

This position is being offered as hybrid with requirements to work on-site 4x a week at our commercial office complex in Neptune City, NJ and one day from home.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
  • Learn, understand, and take part in the product life cycle within E-Commerce.
  • Responsible for coordinating all merchandising product data and imagery to provide accurate and timely launch of products online.
  • Scrutinize product information for accuracy and integrity; troubleshoot and resolve as needed working with appropriate parties.
  • Responsible for reporting product data quality; responsible for the management and resolution of all merchandising issues and inquiries.
  • Work with E-Commerce Manager to analyze category performance to evaluate merchandising efforts.
  • Benchmark competitor shopping experiences and stay current with E-Commerce market, and industry trends.
  • Helps manage relationships and facilitate vendor interactions working closely with other members of the Digital and E-Commerce Team.
  • Contribute to our team's succeeding by providing E-Commerce merchandising support which includes improving discoverability, online search rankings, conversion, and the overall shopper experience.


IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related area
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in product data/information management, content quality/SEO, E-Commerce merchandising and/or Amazon; other digital marketing experience desired but not mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office with particular emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills, verbal & written
  • Self-starter who initiates and implements new ideas to improve the digital shelf
  • Ability to work some weekends and holidays during the year to support new launches and peak seasons.
  • Have a passion for what you do with a positive and energetic “can-do” attitude
  • Takes a proactive approach and is not afraid to ask questions or offer suggestions
  • Able to operate independently and yet demonstrate strong team / collaboration skills
