Kaytee is growing and looking to add a 1 st Shift Industrial Cleaner to our Pet & Wild Bird Department. This role is mainly responsible for packaging and palletizing product according to specifications.This position works four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday; enjoy a long weekend every week!

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

• Ability to disassemble, clean and reassemble equipment in a safe manner
• Vacuum all levels of manufacturing facility
• Clean the equipment, walls, floors and pallet racking thoroughly
• Inspect the manufacturing equipment to ensure cleanliness
• Help organize equipment for production by moving portables
• Safely handle and operate any equipment necessary to maintain clean environment
• Understand and follow good manufacturing practices
• Be aware of the pest prevention program; identify concerns and provide corrective measures
• Inspection of all areas to meet standards set by company
• Record data as required in a timely manner
• Comply with all safety rules and company policies
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Responsible for reporting any Food Safety issues to authorized personnel for correction.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

• Ability to operate forklift and/or reach truck in a safe manner
• Understand functions of machinery and equipment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision in a safe and efficient manner
• Must be able to consistently lift up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work on a ladder or at heights.
• Knowledgeable of chemical usage and the ability to work with caustic and cleaning chemicals (will train)
• Possess solid organizational skills
• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is performed in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• Work temperatures can vary due to outside temperatures.
• Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours (on each respective shift) and average at least 40 hours a week.
• There may be some variation in work hours due to overtime, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns.
