Inventory Maintenance Specialist

Per Diem (less than 20 hours/week)

$17.00 - $23.00 per hour (depending on experience)

The Inventory Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ordering and maintaining medical and janitorial items. Will work with Director of Nursing to establish and adjust par levels to ensure continuous product flow, avoid stock outs and optimize storage space.

Inventory Maintenance Specialist Responsibilities:

1. Prepare requisitions for supplies and equipment to keep adequate stock on hand. Verify/expedite with suppliers, evaluate substitutions, expiration dating, accounting, etc.
2. Order special items as requested; order certain standard items directly from an approved vendor.
3. Receive and inspect supplies and equipment.
4. Check items against invoices or freight bills for proper quantity.
5. Check items for damage and notify the vendor or transportation company of unacceptable items; mark discrepancies on invoices; accept delivery on items and records items received.
6. Store items received on shelves, in bins or in other storage areas.
7. Fill requests for office equipment repairs; may make minor repairs to items carried in stock; may direct others in taking inventory or in moving or storage of equipment and supplies.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Inventory Maintenance Specialist Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED and three years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required in a health care setting. Materials inventory experience preferred.
• Familiarity and experience with New York State Immunization Information System(NYSIIS).
