SUMMARY

CIIS Public Programs seeks student workers to support our online and in-person events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interacting with and assisting presenters at conversations and workshops
  • Managing online event participants in Zoom and providing customer service as needed
  • Managing audience Q&A
  • Assisting online event participants with basic tech troubleshooting
  • Checking-in and supporting attendees and presenters at in-person events
  • Providing feedback and statistics about event attendance and audience experience
  • Working alongside a team of other student workers and CIIS staff to provide a professional and high-quality event experience.


Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Customer service experience
  • Event planning experience a plus
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
  • A pro-active team player who seeks to solve problems before they occur
  • Experience with Slack, Zoom, GSuite, and online events is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Many Public Programs events take place online, so all applicants need access to a computer, internet access and the ability to use the Zoom application. We can assist with any training to use our online platforms.
  • To work in-person events, applicants must be willing to abide by any department health and safety policies for events.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

This position requires attention to detail, good memory, ability to work under deadline pressure, sitting and standing for long periods of time, oral and written communication, keyboarding for significant portions of the workday, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, patience, and tact to perform the essential functions.

COMPENSATION

$18.07 (hourly)

NOTES TO CANDIDATE

  • Working Conditions - Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically Monday through Friday.
  • Background Check - Due to the sensitivity and requirements of this position, you should expect to undergo and be cleared of an employment background/criminal check, if extended an offer for employment. You may also be asked to provide proof of educational degree(s), licenses, or credentials pertinent to the position. If your job requires driving on behalf of CIIS you will be required to provide proof of a valid driver's license.
  • Visa Sponsorship - Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
  • Relocation Assistance - This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
