The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) community development corporation founded in 1991. LEDC’s mission is to drive the economic and social advancement of low- to moderate-income Latinos and other D.C. area residents by equipping them with the skills and tools to achieve financial independence and become leaders in their communities.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Operations Director, the Receptionist and Intake Associate is responsible for providing administrative support to our staff. This will include assisting with multiple reception-related tasks combined with operational and administrative matters.

Location & Schedule: This is an on-site position that reports to our DC office, located at: 1401 Columbia Rd NW, Unit C-1, Washington, DC 20009. This is a full-time, exempt role which typically requires 40 hours per week (e.g., 9a-5p, M-F). Some travel within the DMV area may be required.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple receptionist tasks, ensuring that all inbound phone calls are answered promptly and professionally.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, streamlining the calls intake process, and ensuring that leads are properly managed and follow established protocols.
  • Communicate information obtained from the potential lead with the respective Department.
  • Greet visitors in a warm, professional manner, answer phone calls, take messages, and route calls to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintain the organization and accuracy of the information from leads.
  • Be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, while providing excellent customer service when assisting with front desk coverage.
  • Provide assistance and general information about the programs and services offered by LEDC and refer all inquiries appropriately.
  • Maintain the professional appearance of the lobby, conference, and training rooms.
  • Assist in booking spaces on Skedda (Meeting Rooms, Conference Room) as needed.
  • Print and add flyers of programs at the front desk as needed.
  • Make clients and guests feel welcome and assist them with their needs.
  • Receive all mail and package delivery orders from Amazon, USPS, FEDEX, UPS, among others.
  • Work on special initiatives as necessary instructed by our Leadership.
  • Contribute to Organizational Events by participating in the planning and implementation of organizational events and activities and collaborating with management to ensure their success.
  • Assist in data entry.
  • Replenish kitchen supplies like coffee, tea, sugar, cups, etc.
  • Refill paper in printer as needed.
  • Shred and recycle confidential documents.
  • Communicate any office cleaning/general supplies needs like paper, ink, paper towels, among other materials to the Operations Director.

Required Education and Experience Qualifications

  • An associate degree, 2 years of experience as a receptionist, or equivalent experience and education.
  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish.
  • Professional writing skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to communicate well with a wide range of personalities both in person, electronically and over the phone.
  • Ability to handle many tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced office.
  • Commitment to confidentiality due to sensitive information you may be privy to.
  • Self-starter and able to take on self-realized initiatives to further the effectiveness of the administrative team.
  • Proactive work style and able to identify problem areas early.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Receptionist and Intake Associate preferred, with excellent phone management experience, and organizational skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $52,500 annually, dependent on experience and team budget.
