Job Description

The Purchaser will assist in driving Legend Manufacturing, Inc. material sourcing needs across multiple product categories with an emphasis on aluminum extrusion sourcing. The Purchaser will nurture existing vendor relationships and agreements to support current operational requirements while reducing input costs. Additionally, the Purchaser with develop future partnerships to meet company growth initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Initiate purchase orders (PO's) and requests for quotation (RFQ's) to suppliers according to scheduled production needs.
• Identify and onboard new supplier partnerships to meet growing demand in a constrained supplier base.
• Evaluate cost structures and supplier assessments to ensure best overall value for the organization.
• Maintain positive communications across multiple disciplines (e.g. Production, Engineering, Sales, Warehousing).
• Establish and maintain targeted raw material levels across multiple commodity groups within warehouse constraints.

Requirements:

• 5 years of purchasing experience with at least 2 years of experience with aluminum extrusions.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or another applicable business/sourcing discipline. Commensurate experience will be considered.
• Working knowledge of aluminum alloys, temper, and other structural considerations by intended use cases.
• Prior experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably including trailers, RVs, automotive, boat, or aluminum extrusion.
• Strong computer literacy skills which include ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
